Quality Assurance (QA) Process

Pacesetter Steel Service, Inc. is a quality-driven company. Each associate has embraced a "Zero Defect" attitude to provide consistent quality and service to our customers.

Our Technical Services associates provide research and analysis to ensure that we exceed our customers' requirements on quality, material application, and manufacturing specifications. Our team is equipped in solving non-conformance issues via "root cause analysis", assist in cost reduction programs, are tool and die experts with extensive experience in trouble-shooting stamping, bending and roll forming operations and provide customized technical educational programs. Our team has combined industry experience of over 70 years.  

Our Quality Team:

Lori Rundy, Chief Metallurgist:  After earning her degree in Material Science and Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh, Lori spent 7 years with Weirton Steel in West Virginia. Leaving Weirton Steel as Quality Superintendent, Lori has been Pacesetter's Chief Metallurgist since 2002. Lori heads a Technical Services team of Quality Assurance technicians with over 58 years of cumalitive experience in steel handling, metallurgy, equipment and plant management, and manufacturing. Lori is also a voting member of ASTM.

Al Williams, Senior Quality Technician: After receiving a B.S. degree in Chemistry from Howard University, Al began his career in the steel industry at Weirton Steel as a Technical Service Manager. He has been a member of our team for 9 years in the Quality Assurance and Technical Services area and has over 26 years of steel industry experience.

Keith Bearden, Senior Quality Technician: With over 29 years in the steel industry, Keith's extensive experience and expertise propelled him to various management positions including being a Plant Manager, Tool and Die Manager, and a Quality Manager with various organizations.  He has been a part of our team for 16 years.

UL Certification:

Pacesetter is an Underwriters Laboratories Inc. approved re-packager of certified steel products.
Our testing labs are also approved to provide coating weight certification for flat rolled coated steel.
