The Ideal Candidate:

Pacesetter hires outside sales representatives that will aggressively grow revenue by targeting and closing new customer sales.  These outside sales professionals will have a proven history of developing and implementing sales strategies that produce increased revenue results.

The ideal candidate will have over 7 years of proven success as an outside sales professional in the flat rolled steel industry with a proven track record of closing new business.

We compliment the skills of our Directors of Strategic Value through continued education to provide a high level of value through consultative selling and product knowledge creating the top sales team in our industry.  We go to market in this comprehensive fashion because we realize that no two companies needs are the same.  The primary role of a Director of Strategic Value is to get to know his or her customers, learn their needs and objectives, then deliver appropriate solutions to serve those needs creating value and building a relationship of trust.

Because no corporate partnership is ever successful by having only one relationship, our Directors of Strategic Value Team creates value, develops trust and deepens relationships with all levels of our partnering customers.  When you feel the time is right, we will build a team around you.

 

What is expected of me?

As you might expect, any career that offers the potential for financial success demands very hard work.  This is not just a sales position but also a leadership position, and it is similar to starting a new business.  In any successful new business, creative and hard work is mandatory, but the rewards are well worth it. 

 

We expect you to be on the road visiting with companies 4 days a week.  This is a relationship-building career, and that is best done best face to face. 

 

Pacesetters Directors of Strategic Value have the opportunity to be among the highest paid in sales,  within the steel industry or sales in general.  Plus they enjoy the freedom to pursue the sales opportunities they recognize, effectively running their own business.

 

During the first year, your workdays will be filled with customer contact.  Since there is a considerable amount of knowledge to be learned about our products and the needs of our customers in a variety of industries, you must manage both customer contacts and the learning curve. This may require some time devoted to learning outside of regular hours.  Our most successful salespeople did their research and learning in the hours before and after business hours.

 

Because the Directors of Strategic Value are a critical part of Pacesetter, there are clear accountability expectations and goals.

 

Do I control my own business?

Pacesetter's Directors of Strategic Value are given a region in which they can choose the industries and markets, and to whom they sell.  Our Marketing team will also give direction and support to help you achieve your goals.  You will enjoy the freedom and independence of setting your own course without the insecurity and major expenditures of starting a new business.  As your industry and product knowledge grows your ability to use creative pricing will help you grow even faster.

Our Directors of Strategic Value are the quarterbacks of strategic teams that are created to develop and manage targeted pieces of high priority business.  You direct the process and lead the team to create the strategies needed to grow your account base and income.

What is great about creating Strategic Teams is that once the business is up and running you can delegate to your team and move on to other targets, giving you an unlimited opportunity for financial success.

YES !!!  Your initial education once you become part of our team will be at the corporate headquarters in Kennesaw, Georgia.  We will review the basics, our expectations and your future educational needs, but more importantly you will learn the culture and how to utilize the Pacesetter network of experts to develop solutions for your customers and maximize your results.

Yes, you'll never stop learning at Pacesetter.  At Pacesetter, we believe in continuous education, in our products, selling skills, researching techniques, relationship building, leadership skills or any level of education that will strengthen your knowledge and effectiveness at Pacesetter.

 

How will I be compensated?

In your early months as a Director of Strategic Value, you're unlikely to earn large commissions.  Big pay checks usually follow from creating a great work ethic, relationship building and becoming a solution solver for your customers.  After creating this level of confidence and skill, through teaming you will build an account base of business partners who want to help you achieve your goals creating the atmosphere for great success.

 

The commission rate is aggressive and is not capped, giving you an unlimited earning opportunity.  A goal is set for each Director of Strategic Value after they complete their initial education program at Pacesetter.  At the end of each year, performance against goal determines the following year's Goals. 

 

What other factors should I consider?

The prestige, monetary rewards, personal freedom and lifestyle enjoyed by a successful Pacesetter's Directors of Strategic Value are neither automatic nor quickly obtained.  The work required, particularly in the first two years, is challenging.  Your progress will be directly related to the quantity and quality of the work you perform.  The work of a Director of Strategic Value is difficult.  While you have tremendous support from all Associates at Pacesetter, your success is ultimately dependent upon your ability to do detailed research, create business relationships and sell.  You can expect emotional ups and downs as you close large orders, or receive the bad news that you were beat by a competitor.  Despite all the warnings you will be surprised at the drive and persistence required to get your business started.
